Battle of the Sexes

I found this old video and thought it was pretty interesting. I laughed at the men a bit but the funniest part were the comments:

"are men who don't wear heels a bit lazy too?"

"i have no idea what these ************* are saying... when i see a woman all i think of is SEX SEX SEX SEX SEX lol i dont see what they wear SEX SEX SEX haha"

Ladies please do not take this video seriously. Alot of woemen were heated by this and I don't see why. These are five guys out of the billions of others in the world. Not everyone will agree with these men.

Flats are not my style but they look nice on some people. I do agree that girls or women who wobble in heels shouldn't try walking in them. I don't see how any guy would find that attractive; its just funny to look at. If you want to wear the giant glasses thats fine. Wear what you want to wear. As long as you feel cute and you're confident, some guy will like or not even care what you have on.

To make this funner, please comment on what you think of the video. And girls, lets flip the switch >;D. Tell me what you don't like about what the guys wear.

Too Much of Nothing

I love fashion, I love dressing cute, and I always try to look my best. Ironically, I absolutely hate shopping. It's too hard for me because there's so many things I want or that I feel like I need and it cost money which makes it difficult to choose . When I shop, this is what I'm thinking:
"Ooh this is cute ! ..nope
..cost too much"
..I have something like that"
..too plain"
..everybody wears it"
..I've got too much of this color"
..do I really need this?"
..will this go with most of my clothes?"

The pictures above are of my closets. I use two because I have so much stuff but then at the same time I feel like I'm missing something.

I have stacks and stacks of shoes and wear like three pairs regularly.
Right now I'm stressed, shopping online for shoes because I feel like I need more when really I probably don't.

So many clothes but every once in a while I dont have enough of something---jeans, shirts, jackets, sweaters, colors, prints. Then when I shop I'll buy what I've been complaining I don't have just to come back and feel like now I dont have enough of something else.

Purses are what bug me the most. I'm not much of a purse person because I'm more about my outfit. I have about only ten but I'll wear one specific purse for a couple of months, switching it up every once in a while. It irritates me when people say, " you need a new purse" , "how long have you had that purse?" ," when are you going to get another one?". Truth is, I already have purses and a few of them still have a tag on them. Then again when I want another purse, I'll buy a new one instead of wearing one I've already got.

At this point, I'm going to try and break this habit. I can't exactly throw things away because I do wear most of the stuff but very rarely. I just bought more clothes saturday and today I'm buying shoes. To make it easier on my self, I'm only buying items that I know won't just sit around which so far came down to one pair of shoes. During the next months I'll be forced to wear things that I already have.

Everyone has clothes, shoes, and accesories that they havn't worn. For people like me, sometimes all of the stuff becomes overwhelming, and it gets annoying when we shop. Do you feel like this sometimes? How do you go about it?
For my shopaholics, How do you shop? and what are your pet peeves about shopping, if any?

From Garbage to Glamorous

Many of you do not know that I want to become a fashion designer. Yesterday, I was watching Project Runway and the show stresses me out because these designers make fashionable clothing pieces out of weird fabrics in a short period of time. I thought to try and do my own task to get a little feel of how it might be, so I asked my sister for one and she told me to make her something out of trashbags. At first I wanted to make pants until I realized a dress would be a lot easier for my first time. Two trashbags was all I used and here is my finished product. :)

Effortlessly Cute

#3 Color Your White Tees
Plain shirts need accesories to complete a look. On the contrary, shirts full of art and color only need a pair of shorts or jeans. If it's cold, layer them with a cardigan. Add a little more but not too much with a skirt or wedges. A bold colored shirt will also look nice, but graphics will present a different appearance. A graphic tee yells "look at me". Notice that when a shirt has words or pictures on it, more people will actually take the time to look at it. As long as its stylish and appealing to the eye, a graphic tee is all you need.

DIY Scarf

I made a scarf out of hankerchiefs from my Grandfather. The colors and fabrics aren't too pleasing because there weren't many to choose from and these were the girliest prints/colors he had. I think its pretty good for the limited resources and I'm pleased with the outcome :)

Effortlessly Cute

#2 Replace Traditional Blue Jeans
A nice shirt and jeans are very easy to put together. Brighten it up a bit with a pair of fun colored bottoms ! Don't be afraid to stand out. If you are, however, try autumn colors and neutral prints. Thanks to colorblocking, your shirt doesn't necessarily have to be white. Its a perfect chance to wear two different, yet coordinating colors against eachother. Grab your favorite shirt, pull up your colored bottoms, and you're ready to go !

Effortlessly Cute

Now a days it seems everyone dresses the same. We should be tired of seeing rompers, dresses, crop tops, off-the-shoulder shirts, and flowy blouses. Yet, as many times as we see the same style on different girls, it always looks cute. Those key pieces of clothing are essential to throwing together a decent outfit without trying. Here are a series of tips to help avoid letting things like mood, weather, and stress affect your appearance.

#1 Stock up on Flowy Blouses
Flowy shirts are very feminine and stylish. Don't feel like dressing? Wear it with shorts for the summer or jeans in the fall. Dress it up a bit with a skirt and attain the sweet and innocent look. Pair it with bandage skirts to be formal yet casual. These shirts are perfect for any occasion.

Less is More

"Ever notice how some of your friends look best with no makeup at all? No matter your age, too much makeup makes you look worse. If you wear foundation, powder, blush, liner, mascara, eyeshadow, lip liner and gloss on an everyday basis, then you're overdoing it. Tone it down: All you really need is a great mascara, concealer for blemishes and gloss. Add a pop of blush in winter."

http://beauty.about.com/od/teenbeauty/a/teenbeauty.htm

I personally am against makeup. I'll admit it looks beautiful on some people, but in my opinion it takes away from the natural beauty.
Whether you wear makeup to cover up, enhance, or some other reason, consider this: Occasional makeup for those purposes is fine but wearing it everyday can be bad. In a matter of time, people will have forgotten how you really look. Sure you may be pretty without makeup (most people are) but to people who don't remember, your face will seem naked and you'll appear to be sick when you're not. Be unpredictable--Wear Makeup Today, Be Natural Tomorrow.
Moreover, simple beauty items look nice on a lot of people while for some it looks a mess. I am a highschool student and I see girls everyday trying to wear eyeliner and mascara because their friends do or they think it makes them look prettier. In most cases, they don't know how to apply it and it looks horrible. Mascara and eyeliner are perfect for those who don't wear full makeup, but just to be sure, ask a trusted peer which look do they prefer for you--with or without. In all honesty, makeup is not for everyone. However, if you choose to wear it or not to, just remember to love you yourself <3 and Less is more :)

Back to Our Fashion Roots

Wide Leg Pants are a HUGE fashion trend this fall. It can be dressy, casual, cute or sexy all depending on your style and how you want to wear it.
I love testing out new trends because it forces me to do something different with my look. Honestly, I did not think I would like this piece of fashion. I was going to leave it alone but I couldn't dare pass up an oppurtunity to mix up my style.
The bottoms in the picture above cost me no money at all; they were hand me downs from my grandmother. I figured why spend money on something I might not like when I can get it for free? Anyways, I love the pants and I think I will definitely buy another pair. As for you guys, don't give up on trends. Try it out, you might like it. :)
